Haydn's Herb Garden

When Joseph Haydn bought his house in the city in 1766, he also acquired the little garden by the hospital, situated outside the city walls, and the little wooden hut.

Haydn´s wife transformed this small piece of land in a flower and herb garden. And it is said that  Joseph Haydn came there not only to seek peace and quiet, but also to compose.

In fine weather, the treasures of this Baroque kitchen garden can be visited free of charge from May to September.
