In 2025, Eisenstadt celebrated the anniversary “100 Years as the Capital of Burgenland.” To mark the occasion, a new city museum opened on May 1 in a charming former doctor’s villa.

The Stadtvilla Eisenstadt tells the dynamic history of the provincial capital from the perspective of its residents. Moving beyond traditional display cases, visitors experience the authentic living environment of the 1950s and 1960s and trace Eisenstadt’s rise as the capital of the federal state of Burgenland.
Audio guides are available for different interests and age groups, as well as in several foreign languages.

Saturday, Sunday and public holidays: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

On Mondays and Tuesdays, the Stadtvilla is available to tour groups and school classes by prior arrangement.
